Love coming to this restaurant for brunch or for dinner. We came on a Sunday afternoon for brunch. The food of course was amazing. The wagyu burger with truffle fries were my favorite. For cocktail wise, I had an espresso martini which was also great. The service was quick and the ambiance was great. We were able to have a conversation in the restaurant. Will always come back!
My husband and I decided to have a nice dinner after photographing a City Hall Wedding. We wanted some nice comfort food and Tik Tok showed us the Blind Butcher. We don't eat out often so we were ready to have a full experience and it DID NOT DISAPPOINT! I had an Old Fashioned and the short ribs. My husband had the mac and cheese and steak, and we share the brussels. Everything was amazing and met all of our expectations! Meat was tender, flavors were just right. Drinks were perfect. I'm very picky about my old fashions! Ambiance and service were A+. It was very busy even though it was a Monday evening on a cold and rainy SF evening. Would definitely recommend! Will be back for those braised short ribs for sure!
came here to celebrate an early birthday & had a delightful time!! it's rather dark inside, but i love how decorated the place is it's great for a night out our server was super sweet! i ordered the butcher's wagyu burger & it was unique having a burger in ciabatta bread, but it was so tasty, i just wish there was some lettuce on the burger & the fries was a generous amount!! my bf got the 16 oz prime ribeye steak!! this was good but nothing special & then we shared the calamari & they were great i'd recommend them we got a complimentary dessert that was SOOOOO GOOD i ate that up licked the thing clean
Finally crossed off the list I've had Blind Butcher on my list for sometime now and couldn't be a better occasion to celebrate the holidays. Note: make reservations Ready get set go! You have 90minutes to eat and chat. Service was on point and atmosphere was a vibe, especially in the Castro district. With SF not being really safe these days, I felt the Castro was the safest place in the city. The street was filled with laughter and patrons all over the partying it up. Anyhoot back to Blind butcher, a friend happened to recommend what they people were getting in back of us... which was the Butchers board filled with a board of lobster Mac and cheese, ribeye, filet mignon, rack of lamb, octopus, calamari, shishito peppers, creamy mushrooms, toasted ciabatta, and butcher potatoes. Will take 3 old fashions and the butcher's board please. I can tell you this, when our food came out, my mouth drop of all the protein I was going to eat tonight lmfao! I will tell you it was worth every penny! Totally impressed that the lobster Mac was delicious and I don't like Mac and cheese. The steaks were delicious and cooked to perfection. Octopus was uber tasty along with the crispy calamari. I would definitely come back! Thank you
Came across this very cute spot looking for a new place to dine. The space is intimate while the music was festive for the holiday season and the food is really good! We asked the server what was good on the menu. She said everything and she was right! To start we had the grilled prosciutto burrata, octopus, lamb lollipops and Brussel sprouts. I didn't get a photo unfortunately but for the main dishes we had braised short ribs and filet mignon. For desert see below they were even better eaten together. Will definitely come back
Come for: the ribeye, great drinks, great service Know that: parking can be challenging, reservations over 5 require calling (and they almost never pick up) I came on a Sunday night with a group of 5. We couldn't get a reservation since no one answered the phone despite calling about 6 times over 2 days. The biggest downside. When we arrived, we waited an hour at the bar. The drinks were great - get the old fashioned - and the bartender friendly and knowledgable. When we finally got seated, our server walked us through the menu. I settled on the ribeye and did not regret it. The ribeye comes with chimichurri and rosemary, salt, and paprika on the side. It was cooked a perfect medium rare. Juicy, tender, and flavorful! I would say this is among the best ribeyes I've had all year. We also had brussel sprouts, mushrooms, abd mashed potatoes as sides and they were all pretty good. My favorite were the mashed potatoes. Overall, I definitely enjoyed my dinner here and would come back for the ribeye. I just wish they would pick up the phone to make group reservations easier. M
My oh my the scrumdiliumptious steak that blind butcher has is heavenly! When I came to blind butcher it was a lovely experience where the inside of the restaurant is dimly lit giving romantic dark tavern vibes and the waiters were very friendly. For food, we decided to order the sliced steak medium rare which some with seasoned potatoes/chimichuri sauce, and a side of fried calamari. The steak was melt in your mouth buttery and seasoned to perfection, and the calamari was equally as buttery and flakey. I highly recommend blind butcher for delicious buttery steak!
I went here for my 24th birthday and was very pleased with the experience. Online they only let you book reservations for parties of 4 or less but I was able to get a reservation for 7 by calling. They answered a bit after their voicemail played, so be a little patient. We were about 15/20 minutes late due to traffic but they held our table for us. Everything my table ordered was 10/10. I would definitely recommend this restaurant for dinner dates, celebrations, and birthdays. The service was amazing and the food came out in a timely manner. We all were very impressed with the decor, it created a very intimate atmosphere.
Came here a few weeks ago for a dinner date and I was very excited because I've seen a lot of positive reviews on yelp as well as on social. I wasn't a huge fan of where we were seated, it was a taller table with chairs that had little to no back support. When I come back I would like to try sitting at one of their booths. We started with a bottle of wine and the roka salad. The salad was so good I'm still thinking about it weeks later. We also ordered their lobster mac and cheese, and the creamy mushrooms. I'm not much of a seafood lover but I couldn't really taste the lobster, and this was the cheesiest mac I've ever had. Idk if it was because I was full (I know we ordered a lot of food for two people), but I wasn't in love with my steak which was a bit of a let down. I would like to try the ribeye on my next visit. Overall, the service was very friendly and quick considering the amount of people. It was a bit loud which made it hard for conversation. There were also so many menu items that I would like to go back and try.
If you go to a restaurant called "blind butcher" and don't get a nice cut of beef for your entree, you're doing it wrong. First off, their ribeye is a generous portion of meat that is cooked to absolute perfection. Soft like butter, each bite just melts in your mouth! It comes with a delicious side of chimichurri sauce, but it's so well seasoned you could go without. The Brussels and truffle fries were also delicious! I would love to come back and try some of the other options on their menu. The restaurant is dimly lit and really sets an ambience. Definitely not a place I'd bring children. Overall, delicious food and great service. Highly recommend.
